In 2002 Paul decided to take a backpack and an acoustic guitar to Australia. Armed with an acoustic guitar, Paul spent a year busking on the streets of Australia and within 8 months of busking had signed a recording and publishing agreement with Engine Room/Universal Music. In 2004 they arranged for Paul to work in Los Angeles with producers Tony Hoffer (Beck / Air/ Turin Brakes /Kooks) and Carmen Rizzo (Paul Oakenfold / Coldplay X&Y). He has also written with Sheryl Crow’s co-writer Jeff Trott. Whilst in Australia Paul wrote over 30 songs for other artists including projects for Sony/BMG and Australian Idol.
Although flattered by the interest of the Australian record companies, Paul decided to return to England to pursue his music career in this country, where his music can reach a much wider audience. 2006/2007 saw Paul playing shows across the U.K and in America with his band and recording material with Producer/Writer Paul Herman. (Dido/Faithless/Corrinne Bailey Rae).
