Filling the 'songwriter' slot is CHARLIE DORE. Best known for her self-written 1980 hit ‘Pilot Of The Airwaves’ (no. 13 on the Billboard chart) which she will perform tonight, Charlie has also spent many years acting in TV, theatre, radio and film and composing major hits for artists such as Tina Turner, Celine Dion, George Harrison, Lisa Stansfield, Jimmy Nail, Sheena Easton and Hayley Westenra.
This year Charlie recorded another solo album entitled 'Cuckoo Hill' with her long-time collaborator Julian Littman. Here they explored diverse themes and arrangements written and recorded during what she describes as the most turbulent year of her life, Charlie has dedicated the album to her father and her brother, both of whom she lost in 2005.
